1931 sees Schenker & Co. GmbH taken over by the then Deutsche Reichsbahn (German National Railway) and under state control. The corporation’s ties with the Nazi regime are currently being investigated as part of a comprehensive academic study by the German Business History Society (GUG), which aims to resolve as yet unanswered research questions centering around Schenker’s active involvement in so-called aryanization and forced labor.
