This dish is an indispensable part of traditional Ukrainian cuisine. If you have tried this dish at least once, you will probably become a real fan.
The dish is so old and traditional that there is even a legend about its origin. It is said that near Rakhiv once lived a shepherd with a flock of sheep. Once he went to the market to sell cheese and buy flour. And there he met a merchant named Banosh. He offered him the yellow porridge. He bought and cooked a dish from it at home, which was named after the merchant.
